Japanese champleve enamelled 'suiteki' (calligraphy water dropper) depicting a chrysanthemum. Champleve is similar to cloisonne enamel but the difference is that champleve has the individual compartments (cloisons) cast as a part of the body rather than attached later like with cloisonne. Late 19th/ early 20th century.
