The John Deere Company produced this and similar models between 1923 and 1953. The steel wheels on this model were not suitable for hard surfaces, which led to the development and installation of solid rubber tires on the new models.
This replica is of the GP (or General Purpose) was launched in 1928, as a 10-20 hp rated tractor from a 2-cylinder engine. The tractor had a 3-speed gear box. The Model GP was effectively the MKII (2nd. Generation or updated) version of the John Deere Model C which had been introduced in 1927.
